The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is a college of the University of London and the only Higher Education institution in the UK specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East.
SOAS combines language scholarship, disciplinary expertise and regional focus, it has the largest concentration in Europe of academic staff concerned with Africa, Asia and the Middle East. SOAS remains a guardian of specialised knowledge in languages and periods and regions not available anywhere else in the UK.
Outreach Provision
All of SOAS' activities are designed to help students explore the breadth of opportunities available to them, and to realise their potential in HE. They work with a wide range of students of varying abilities and in particular work with the following students: Those who would be the first in their family to go to university; Those passionate about world issues and language study; and Those requiring support to fully realise their academic potential.
